A straight opener swap, where the existing rail and bracket are sound, is usually a same-visit job. Where it runs long is when the garage was framed for a different opener style than what's being installed, or when the header needs reinforcing - something we see less in Ashland's newer stock but still check every time, since a 2003 build date is a median, not a guarantee for every house.
We test the travel limits, the force settings, and the safety sensor alignment before we leave, because a sensor out of alignment is the most common callback on any opener job, in any town. If the existing opener is original to a 2003-era house, the motor and gears are often still within spec, and sometimes the better call is a logic board or sensor repair instead of a full replacement - we'll say so rather than sell a new unit when the old one has life left.
